I'm Moving To Iowa...

Not really.. but damned if I'm not impressed by their insane respect for beer.

The Associated Press reports that Ames, Iowa will be going through an unorthodox solution to prevent the damaging of sidewalks and kegs by installing rubber sidewalks.

This all comes with both praise and criticism from taxpayers who both feel it is a creative solution and also that the burden to prevent this damage lies on the shoulders on beer distributors. However, this project also reveals a very environmental advantage that everybody should be able to appreciate: the sidewalks are made up of old shredded tires that would have otherwise ended up in landfills, according to AP.

In any case, IA very well could be pioneering a new trend in sidewalks that could potentially have more of an advantage than just protecting itself and kegs from harm. But they could quite possibly be paving the way for tomorrow's sidewalks that has endless possibilities of both safety and environmental promise.
